Rakchham village, a popular tourism destination, is now gaining recognition for its potential in adventure sports like bouldering. During his visit to the region 14 years ago, renowned Austrian mountaineer Bernd Zangerl had identified the unexplored bouldering sites. He had taken the initiative to train local kids and youths in this challenging adventure sport.

Bouldering, a sport that requires physical strength and mental focus, not only has the potential to produce world-class athletes but also adds a new dimension to Rakchham’s village tourism appeal. By promoting the activity, Zangerl is not only enhancing the village’s reputation on the global adventure tourism map but also providing the local children with a constructive hobby that instills discipline and keeps them away from negative influences like drug abuse.

Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Sharma visited the site to witness this transformative initiative. The enthusiasm of the children and the dedication of Bernd Zangerl reflect the immense possibilities this sport holds for the region.
