Rajasthan police bust fake currency unit in Patiala

A team of Rajasthan police conducted a raid in Patiala and busted a fake currency unit being operated in Sanaur area by arresting two men. Interestingly, the fake currency unit was operating right under the nose of Patiala police for over a year but the local police could not get a whiff of it.
Sharing details following the raid, Sub Inspector Reena Kumari from Jodhpur police station in Rajasthan, said she along with Sanaur police station in-charge Ajay Kumar raided a house at Mohalla Kasabian Wala and recovered paper, printer and a computer used for producing fake currency. Around Rs 58,000 fake currency notes were also recovered during the raid.
She said that the raid was conducted in Patiala after a man identified as Ashok Kumar from Jodhpur was arrested by the police with fake currency notes.
During the investigation, the accused stated to the police that he was procuring the fake currency from Patiala. Soon, the police party from Rajasthan carried out a well-coordinated raid and arrested the accused Gurjit Singh. During the preliminary investigation, Gurjit told the police that he had learnt to make fake notes by watching YouTube videos.
Police are further investigating his network to ascertain the amount of fake currency he had made and sold so far.
Reena Kumari said that during the raid, police found 45 fake currency notes of Rs 100 denomination, 68 of Rs 500 denomination and 76 of Rs 200 denomination. She said that the accused would be taken to Jodhpur for further investigation.
