Former India captain and coach Rahul Dravid was today announced as the head coach of the Indian Premier League team Rajasthan Royals on a multi-year contract. Dravid coached Rajasthan Royals in 2014.

Shourya Saini scripted a World Deaf Championship record with a score of 452.4 on way to securing gold in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event. It is Saini’s second medal in the competition, following his silver in the men’s 10m air rifle event. Chetan Hanmant Sapkal settled for bronze in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol, taking India’s medals tally in to 17 (five gold, seven silver and five bronze).

Indian sweep in rapid chess championship
Indians delivered an impressive performance at the Commonwealth Rapid Chess Championship, securing three podium finishes. Grandmaster Mitraba Guha claimed the gold medal with 6.5 points, while GM Panneerselvam Iniyan took silver with six points. GM Laxman Rajaram secured the bronze with 5.5 points.
