Enforce anti-ragging laws strictly: NSUI

  • National Student of Union (NSUI), Himachal Pradesh University unit, demanded the University Grants Commission (UGC) to strictly enforce anti-ragging laws across all government and private educational institutions in the country.
  • NSUI delegation today met HP University Registrar and submitted a memorandum to the UGC chairman through the Registrar.

Both the students have been expelled from the university on the recommendations of the university’ s anti-ragging committee which met today. They will be produced in a court today for taking their remand, said SP Solan Gaurav Singh. A first year MBA student was thrashed and forced to consume liquor inside a hostel room in the campus on September 7. Refusal to drink peeved the seniors who beat him mercilessly besides kicking him. He was also locked inside the washroom for some time and confined to the seniors room.
