Quarter-final matches of 3rd Round Glass hockey tourney today

The teams from Round Glass Rup Nagar, Round Glass Chachrari, Round Glass Harchowal, and Round Glass Nikke Ghuman reached the quarter-finals of the 3rd Round Glass Inter Development Centre Hockey Tournament. The last four matches of the league round of the tournament being held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium were played today. The quarter-final matches will be played on December 19.

The first match was played between Round Glass Baba Bakala and Round Glass Malerkotla in Pool C, which ended in a draw with a score of 2-2, due to which both the teams got one point each but they could not qualify for the quarter-finals. Baba Bakala had two points after three league matches, while Malerkotla had one point after three league matches. Harsimran Singh scored a goal for Malerkotla in the 29th minute of the game. Amanatvir Singh scored for Baba Bakala in the 37th minute, Arshdeep Singh in the 44th minute. Manrajdeep Singh scored a goal for Malerkotla in the 51st minute to make the score 2-2. Simranjot Singh of Malerkotla was declared the best player of the match.

In the first match of the day, Round Glass Baba Bakala faced Round Glass Malerkotla in Pool C. The closely contested game ended in a 2-2 draw. Harsimran Singh scored for Malerkotla in the 29th minute, while Amanatvir Singh and Arshdeep Singh netted goals for Baba Bakala in the 37th and 44th minutes, respectively. Manrajdeep Singh equalised for Malerkotla in the 51st minute. Despite their efforts, both teams failed to qualify for the quarter-finals. Simranjot Singh of Malerkotla was named the best player of the match.

In the second match, Round Glass Nikke Ghuman took on Round Glass Rup Nagar, also in Pool C. Rup Nagar emerged victorious with a 3-2 win. Saurabh Kumar scored twice for Rup Nagar in the 29th and 49th minutes, and Jasmeet Singh added another goal in the 42nd minute. Nikke Ghuman fought back with goals from Arshdeep Singh in the 43rd minute and Arshpreet Singh in the 45th minute. Rup Nagar topped Pool C with nine points, while Nikke Ghuman secured second place with six points. Jaspreet Singh of Nikke Ghuman was declared the best player of the match.

The third match of the day saw Round Glass Sansarpur face Round Glass Kila Raipur in Pool D. Sansarpur claimed a 2-0 victory, with Suraj scoring in the 36th minute and Kuljit adding another goal in the 51st minute. Despite the win, Sansarpur failed to advance to the quarter-finals. Kila Raipur ended their campaign without securing any points. Suraj of Sansarpur was named the best player of the match.

In the final match, Round Glass Harchowal played against Round Glass Chachrari in Pool D. The game ended in a 2-2 draw. Yuvraj Singh and Ankit scored for Chachrari, while Gursewak Singh netted both goals for Harchowal. Harchowal secured the top spot in Pool D with seven points, while Chachrari claimed second place with five points. Amanpreet Singh of Chachrari was named the best player of the match.

The quarter-finals will take place on December 19. Round Glass Dhannowali will face Round Glass Chahal Kalan at 9 am, followed by Round Glass Mithapur against Round Glass Tehing at 11 am. In the afternoon, Round Glass Harchowal will take on Round Glass Nikke Ghuman at 1 pm, and Round Glass Rup Nagar will face Round Glass Chachrari at 3 pm.
