Punjab State Women Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill visited Sangrur District Jail today. She assessed the arrangements for women prisoners and listened to their problems.

Gill directed the police officials to involve non-government organizations (NGOs) and implement different social reforms in the jail. She said the main motive of her visit was to improve the future of under-trial women and convicted prisoners. She also added that the problems related to health, food and legal assistance would be resolved soon.

Sangrur Sub Divisional Magistrate Charanjot Singh Walia, Superintendent District Jail Navinder Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP) Palwinder Singh Cheema, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Adarshpal Singh Toor were also present on the occasion.
