A woman from Sunam attempted suicide allegedly by hanging herself at her house and died during treatment at DMC Hospital in Ludhiana. The woman reportedly took the step over alleged “illicit relations” of her husband.

Dara Singh, the victim’s father, alleged that his son-in-law Gagandeep Singh was having “illicit” relationship with a woman for the past one year. He stated that due to this, his daughter was mentally upset for the past sometime and took the extreme step.

The Sunam police have booked Gagandeep and a woman under Section 108 of the BNS.
