Woman crushed to death under pvt bus, son injured

A 42-year-old woman was crushed to death, while her son was seriously injured when a private bus hit the motorcycle they were travelling on at Samalsar village in Baghapurana subdivision in the district, the police said here today.

The deceased has been identified as Sukhdeep Kaur, wife of Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Dhurkot village in Faridkot district. After the mishap, she was rushed to a government hospital at Kotkapura where doctors declared her brought dead, while her son, Jashanpreet Singh, was referred to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital at Faridkot. He was later shifted to DMC Hospital in Ludhiana, where his condition is stated to be serious.

Preliminary investigations revealed that after meeting their relatives at Cheeda village, the woman and here son were going back to their native Dhurkot village on a motorcycle when a private bus (PB-03-AP-9983) hit them.

The bus driver, Harjinder Singh of Badian village in the Muktsar district, ran away from the spot. A case under has been registered against Harjinder.
