The Panchayat and Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar on Sunday presided over a rural tournament at Killianwali village, 8 km from here. He said the state government would provide sports grounds on a large scale for the development of sports facilities in the villages.
Bhullar said ponds would be developed with the ‘Thapar model’ in 20 villages of Abohar constituency so that the problem of sewage disposal may be solved permanently.
The minister earlier laid the foundation stones of various development works worth around Rs 80 lakh. He also inaugurated a newly built sports stadium in the village.
