While addressing the ‘Sarkaar Vpaar Milni’ here in Mukerian, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the state government has prepared a blueprint of upgrading the infrastructure in the focal points and SEZs besides ensuring security in the industrial areas by setting up special police posts. So far, investments worth Rs 70,000 crore have been firmed up in the state with leading companies like Tata Steel, Sanatan Textiles and others making a beeline to invest in the state. The state government was committed to ensure that these companies expand their businesses in the state.

The initiative was aimed to resolve the issues being faced by the trading community of the state. The Chief Minister said that this was not a political rally but it was the next phase of the Sarkaar Sannatkar Milni that was earlier started by the state government. He said that the state government was making concerted efforts for promoting the food processing industry adding that traders will be immensely benefitted from the various decisions being taken.

Mann said that he had visited the several big cities like Mumbai, Chennai and others to invite the industrialists for setting up their ventures. The state has best law and order situation in the country due to which industries were coming in a big way, he added.

The CM said the state government will now act as a facilitator and unlike in the past, no one will harass the industrialists.

Mann said that the state government has introduced unique colour coded stamp papers for ease of doing business and quicker clearances, which was a step forward towards facilitating the entrepreneurs for setting up their units. “It is a revolutionary step aimed at promoting ease of doing business for the entrepreneurs desirous of setting up their units in the state,” said Mann.

Mann announced that Mukerian Civil Hospital will soon have a trauma centre and other facilities. Claiming that at Rs 2 crore per MW, 540 MW Goindwal Sahib Power Plant was the cheapest purchase made by any state/private company, he added that the power plant has been renamed as Sri Guru Amardas Thermal Power Plant.

The CM announced that the traders with turnover of around Rs 2 crore will now be eligible for health insurance cover. The state government will also raise the issue of upgrading BBMB Hospital with the authorities. Mann also announced to upgrade the infrastructure in mandis across the state on modern lines. Also, the state government will soon set up an Industry Advisory Commission with a Cabinet rank chairman and members from various sectors and industries to resolve problems of industrialists at the earliest.
