Prabhjot Singh (22) has been missing since the murder of his parents Harcharan Singh (62) and Paramjit Kaur (60) and his sister Dr Charanpreet Kaur (30).
Meanwhile, Harcharan’s scooter has been found near the Police Lines and it was suspected that Prabhjot might have left it there. Following this, the police have started searching for him in the Bhakra canal near the spot.
According to information, the murders were committed on the intervening night of April 9 and 10 and Prabhjot’s location was also tracked in Power Colony and nearby Kotla Nihang village around the time of the crime. Even the two mobile phone numbers used by him were working till April 10 afternoon.
Though the relatives of the victim family informed the police that there was no internal dispute or enmity with anyone, sources said Prabhjot was suffering from depression as he couldn’t get an MBBS degree like his sister. “He, however, took admission in the BAMS course at the Saraswati Group of Institutes in Gharuan village. He even deposited the fee, but never attended classes.” —
