Two nabbed from Kharar in Faridkot murder case
The police arrested two shooters allegedly involved in the October 9 killing of Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh at Hari Nau village in Faridkot from Swaraj Enclave, Kharar, today.
Cops remained tight-lipped over the incident, but locals said around 30-40 armed police personnel cordoned off a flat in the locality and began investigation. After over two hours, they whisked away two youths out of the flat. The flat owner said one Sukhdeep booked the accommodation on Airbnb after which the duo checked in. Sources said they had been changing locations in the area for past three days.
Cops deleted the footage of around four-five CCTV cameras in the area before taking them away. The flat owner said the police also took away a bag and the DVR of the CCTV installed in the house. The police did not confirm whether any weapons or contraband was seized from them.
The police have named jailed pro-Khalistan leader and Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, along with two persons based in Canada, for the October 9 killing.
Bilal Ahmed, alias Fauji; Guramardeep Singh, alias Pontu; and Arshdeep Singh, alias Jhandu, had been arrested while the police were on the lookout for four more shooters.
