Two gangsters held, weapons seized

In a breakthrough, the Moga police arrested two gangsters associated with the notorious Sukha Lamhe group, which is involved in many criminal cases in the state.
Those arrested have been identified as Resham Singh, a resident of Mohalla Pandori, Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala, and Sahil Kumar, a resident of Mohalla Surat Nagar, Maksudan Road, Jalandhar.
Senior Superintendent of Police Harmanbir Singh Gill said a country-made .32 bore pistol with four cartridges, a .315 bore country-made pistol with four cartridges, a country-made .12 bore pistol with seven cartridges and 1,100 intoxicating pills had been recovered from them.

In charge of CIA Staff Kikar Singh arrested the shooters at a police checkpoint on the Mehna-Bhagawan road in the district. Subsequently, a case under Sections 22, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against them at the Mehna police station.
Harmanbir Gill said the gangsters first identified well-off persons, mostly in Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga and Jagraon area of Ludhiana district. Gangster Prabh of Canada and his group used to threaten these persons on the phone and tell them to pay ransom. In case they refused to so, these shooters used to attack them.
