Two die in Sangrur mishap
Two persons were killed while another sustained serious injuries when the car they were travelling in met with a mishap at Nankiana Sahib Chowk here on the night intervening October 27 and 28.
The deceased were identified as Jaskaran Singh (23), a resident of Barnala, and Lovedeep Singh (35), a resident of Natt village (Dhuri). Tarsem Singh (35), a resident of Mangwal village, was injured in the mishap that took place when they were on their way to Mangwal.
The police said Tarsem was taken to the Civil Hospital, Sangrur, from where he was referred to Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. He is undergoing treatment there.
The police said Jaskaran was driving the car when an animal suddenly came in front of the vehicle. He lost control of the car and crashed it into Nankiana Sahib Chowk rotary. Jaskaran and Lovedeep died on the spot while seriously injured Tarsem, who is a member of the Mangwal panchayat, was taken to the Civil Hospital, Sangrur.
The police have initiated proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
