Chandigarh, February 12

To check leakage of question papers and tracking of answer sheets, the Punjab School Education Board has gone hi-tech.

The annual board exams for Class X and XII are starting from February 13 and for Class V and VIII are scheduled for March 7.

Satbir Bedi, chairperson, Punjab School Education Board, in order to improve the system, PSEB-MATQ mobile app had been developed for Class X and XII board exams.

“This app will be used for tracking of question papers and answer sheets submitted at the collection centers,” she said, adding that sealed packets of question papers would be kept at banks allotted by the board. She said each packet would have a QR code, which would be scanned.

This app would not scan packets of wrong subjects and question papers cannot be received by any unauthorised person. “Thus, there’s no possibility of paper leakage,” she said.

This app can be accessed only by mobile phone numbers registered with the board. The technical wing of the board has already given training to various field officials of the Education Department.

Along with centre superintendents and invigilators, the board has also deployed flying squads.

2,525 centres

  • A total of 2,525 centres have been established
  • Exams being conducted from 11 am to 2.15 pm
