Three youths booked for raping minor

A 13-year-old girl was kidnapped and allegedly gang-raped yesterday evening by three youths in the Sadulshehar area of Sriganganagar.

A case was registered against Suraj, Raju, alias Raj Kumar Bawri, and Navjot Singh Monu of Khairuwala, which is 32km away from here, for kidnapping and gang rape.

Sources in the police said the girl had gone to a shop last evening to buy some items when the suspects forcefully took her out of the village in their car. When the girl did not return home for a while, the family started searching for her. Sources said after nearly 2 hours as the suspects were coming to drop the girl back to the village, the search party surrounded them. They managed to flee, leaving behind girl in the. DSP (Rural) Anupam Mishra is investigating the incident. The police got the girl examined.
