Teacher selected for National Teachers’ Award 2024

Dr Baljinder Singh Brar, vice-principal, Government High Secondary School, Chak 4JJ village, Sriganganagar, is among 50 teachers from across the country who have been selected for the National Teachers’ Award 2024.
Sriganganagar, which is also known as “Punjab of Rajasthan”, has a large number of Punjabi families.
Brar, who is an English lecturer, has been promoting Punjabi language by providing Punjabi books and magazines to the students. He also provides free stationery and competitive books to economically backward students.
He has made unprecedented contributions to the PM Poshan Yojana through “paryavaran pathshala” in environmental protection.
Working as a United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) worker since 2015, Brar has been doing co-scholastic work through various activities, including Scout Guide.
Earlier, he had been honoured with the Asian Education Award, Life Time Achievement Award, Jaipur Ratna Award, National Youth Icon Award, National Social Service Ratna Award, Media Teacher Guru Samman, State Level Teaching Award and Asia Book of Records Award.
