Chandigarh, March 16

Within days of launching its campaign for the next year’s Assembly elections, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today cancelled all rallies scheduled for this month after its president Sukhbir Singh Badal tested positive for Covid-19.

Apparently, Badal caught virus during some of the rallies that he had addressed in the past few days. As the state is witnessing a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases, the political rallies were being considered a cause for spread of the disease.
