Former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal completed his 10-day religious punishment by performing ‘sewa’ for the second consecutive day at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Muktsar town today. Sukhbir will perform ‘ardas’ at the Akal Takht on Friday.

Sukhbir, due to his fractured foot, sat on a wheelchair at the entrance of the gurdwara as a ‘sewadar’ (security guard), wearing a blue robe, a plaque of Gurbani verses around his neck and holding a spear in his hand. He was surrounded by a large number of security personnel and party workers.

Several Akali leaders, including Sukhbir, party’s acting president Balwinder Singh Bhunder, ex-ministers Daljit Singh Cheema, Sucha Singh Langah, Heera Singh Gabria and Gulzar Singh Ranike performed ‘sewa’ of cleaning utensils in the ‘langar’ (community kitchen) hall as well.
