Sukhbir blocks road in Muktsar

After nominations of several sarpanch candidates were rejected in the Gidderbaha Assembly segment even after they had reportedly got election symbols on Monday night, SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal organised a demonstration by blocking a road outside the District Administrative Complex here.

BJP’s Manpreet Badal also condemned the state government. He announced that the party would file a PIL in this regard in the high court.

Sukhbir said, “I demand registration of criminal cases against guilty officials who have made a mockery of democracy. I give the state government authorities time till Thursday to revise the lists and allow all eligible candidates to contest the elections or we will gherao the Gidderbaha SDM’s office on Thursday.”
