Speculation as Dr Navjot Sidhu calls on BJP’s Taranjit Sandhu

In an unexpected development, former BJP MLA Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu visited diplomat-turned-BJP leader Taranjit Singh Sandhu at his house here. She was accompanied by her daughter Rabia Sidhu and office staff.

Sandhu, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket, shared pictures of the meeting on his social media handles with the caption, ‘A pleasure to meet with Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu at Samundri House and discuss #Amritsar related developmental issues’.

Though both Dr Sidhu and Sandhu maintained silence over the meeting, political circles are rife with the speculation about an inclination towards the BJP, especially when the Sidhu couple is not seen at Congress’ events after the 2022 polls. Sidhu had lost to AAP’s Jeevanjot Kaur.

A Congress worker, preferring anonymity, said it was just a courtesy visit to ‘Samundri House’. “Sandhu had called up Dr Sidhu to know about her well-being. She and her daughter were on the way to a doctor’s clinic and Sandhu invited them to his home,” he said.
