Shiv Sena leader’s house attacked with petrol bomb in Ludhiana, probe on
Three motorcycle-borne persons lobbed a petrol bomb at the house of a Shiv Sena leader near Bijli market here. The bomb hit the gate and caused a minor fire. The Sena leader was inside the house when the incident took place.
Around 2:45 am on Saturday, some unidentified bikers attacked the house of Shiv Sena Hind Sikh Sangat wing president Harkirat Singh Khurana with a petrol bomb. The suspects are clearly visible in a CCTV footage.
This is the second incident in the past two weeks. On October 17, two bike-borne youths threw a diesel bomb outside the house of Shiv Sena Bharatvanshi leader Yogesh Bakshi in Ludhiana. The leader’s car was burnt in the incident.
Harkirat said threat calls were often received from unknown foreign numbers. Last night also, a threat call was received. “Even after the attack, a message has again come from an unknown number at 9:15 am today, stating that they did what they had said. The sender even threatened other Shiv Sena leaders as well in the message,” he alleged.
Harkirat talked to senior officials of the police who assured that they would soon catch the suspects.
ACP, Civil Lines, Akarshi Jain said the police had started the investigation. The number from which the Sena leader was threatened was also being traced and soon the accused would be nabbed.
Meanwhile, several leaders gathered at Harkirat’s house and raised questions over the security and safety of Hindu leaders. They alleged that the police had failed to solve the earlier attack on Bakshi.
