Seven members of Ankush Bhaya gang held

In a significant breakthrough, the Jalandhar rural police arrested seven members of the infamous Ankush Bhaya Gang, including a police official who had joined the gang. The arrested individuals have ties to notorious criminal figures, including Vikram Brar, Goldy Brar, Rinda Baba and Ravi Balachoria. Vikram Brar and Ravi Balachoria are currently imprisoned.

One of the arrested, Aryan Singh, a constable from Nakodar, had been absent from duty for more than a month and was found to have joined the gang. The other arrested gang members include Ankush Sabharwal, alias Bhaya, Pankaj Sabharwal, alias Panku, Vishal Sabharwal, alias Bhadthu, Harmanpreet Singh, alias Harman, Jaskaran Singh Purewal, alias Karan, alias Jassa, Aryan Singh and Rupesh Kumar.

The police revealed that the gang was planning a bank robbery in Jalandhar and the murder of four rival gang members. During the arrest, the police seized 1,000 Alprazolam tablets, four pistols and ammunition. The operation was led by SP (Investigation) Jasroop Kaur Batth, and the arrests were made following a tip-off about the gang’s movements. The case has been registered under the Arms Act and the NDPS Act
