In view of the increasing number of incidents of stubble burning, the school education department has asked the school authorities to sensitise the students in the morning assembly about the threats and impact of the increasing pollution.

In a letter to all DEOs, the Secretary, school education department, Kamal Kishore Yadav has asked the schools to make the students aware about the adverse impact of the increasing pollution.

Though the secretary has desisted from mentioning stubble burning in his letter to DEOs, sources in the department revealed that the motive of starting this awareness at this point of time is to sensitise the students in the rural areas about the health problems they witness in their families when a dense blanket of smog and smoke envelops the state post-harvesting for many days together.
