SAD Sudhar Lehar submits memos to Punjab Governor via DCs
The SAD Sudhar Lehar today submitted memorandums to the Governor via the offices of deputy commissioners at Jalandhar, Mohali, Sangrur and Patiala, seeking rollback of the recent hike in fuel prices and bus fares, besides continuation of power subsidy for consumers having 7 KW power load.
Movement convener Gurpartap Singh Wadala said the state residents had been burdened with hike in these sectors. He said the memorandum also highlighted the law and order problem in the state, besides rampant drug abuse and smuggling. Wadala said as per the scheduled programme, similar memorandums would be submitted to the deputy commissioners in other districts this week.
Former Member of Parliament Prem Singh Chandumajra said the memorandums submitted to the DCs throughout the state were part of a larger effort to reverse the financial hardship created due to the AAP government’s policies. He claimed the campaign would evolve into a widespread people’s movement.
He demanded immediate reversal of the recent hike in electricity rates, fuel prices, bus fares, vehicle tax and registration charges.
