He dared PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and CM Charanjit Singh Channi to show courage to oppose the decision. “This is a brazen display of shocking insensitivity towards the Sikh community by Sonia Gandhi and the Congress. Could there be a worse way to rub salt into the festering wounds of the Sikhs than this decision and its timing?” said Sukhbir here, adding the decision comes just a couple of days ahead of the 38th anniversary of the tragedy.
PCC ex-chief Sunil Jakhar said since the issue was close to the heart of every Punjabi, senior leader Ambika Soni and Channi must have given their advice. “They need to explain on this,” he said. — TNS
