Ropar: 10 gangsters linked to Lawrence Bishnoi arrested

The police today claimed to have arrested 10 members of the Pindri gang, which reportedly is linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who is one of the masterminds in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case.
In all, seven illegal weapons and 51 cartridges were seized from the accused.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Ropar range, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandeep Garg told the media that on a tip-off, a team of the district police busted the inter-state gang.
Among the accused is the gang kingpin, identified as Parminder Singh, alias Pindri, a rival of notorious gangster Dilpreet Singh Bawa.
Pindri, a native of Nurpur Bedi in Ropar district, faces 22 criminal cases, including attempt to murder. He was out on bail for quite some time.
Bhullar said Pindri was wanted for drug smuggling in the area. The other arrested accused are Baljinder Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Iqbal Mohammed, Surinder Singh, Dara Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Robin Singh.
The police have said seven illegal weapons — two .32 bore pistols, two .30 bore pistols, two .315 bore pistols and one .12 bore pistol — 51 cartridges and a magazine had been seized from the accused.
Dara Singh faced 24 criminal cases, while Iqbal Mohammad is booked in seven such cases and Surinder Singh in four.
Sources say Pindri came in contact with drug smugglers when he lodged in the Kapurthala jail a few years ago. He started smuggling drugs through his aides on the phone in different parts of the state.
