Rupnagar, August 26

Incidents of theft in Rupnagar have shaken city residents. In response to the situation, BJP district president Ajayvir Singh Lalpura visited local shopkeepers who were victims of the thefts.

Lalpura met Raman, the owner of a mobile shop. Raman said mobile phones worth lakhs were stolen from his shop yesterday. He said he had suffered significant losses. Similarly, the owner of Ashu Mobile Shop said valuable items were stolen from his shop as well. He said this was not the first time thefts had occurred; it wan an ongoing issue, he said.

Lalpura advised the local MLA and the CM to take this matter seriously and take the necessary steps immediately. He expressed concern about the rising crime rate and the safety of the public in Punjab, emphasising that the government’s inaction was increasing the public’s discontent.

Lalpura assured the shopkeepers he would soon meet with the SSP of Rupnagar regarding the problem of seeking justice. He also urged the AAP-led state government to provide financial relief to the affected shopkeepers.
