Office-bearers and activists from various Vishwakarma Mandir Committees in the region have called on the Union Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to include chapters on Baba Vishwakarma in school curricula.

This demand was made during the concluding sessions of Puja Utaavs held in Malerkotla, Amargarh, Kup Kalan and Ahmedgarh. Speakers such as Tirlochan Singh Chapra, Inderjit Singh Mundey, Randhir Singh Hunjan and Darshan Singh Lotey expressed disappointment that successive governments have not effectively promoted awareness of Baba Vishwakarma’s teachings, despite his significant contributions to modern technology, masonry and craftsmanship.

They urged the region’s youth to enhance their professional skills by embracing the teachings and ideology of Lord Vishwakarma. The speakers argued including his life story in educational materials could greatly improve the lifestyles of the masses and boost the nation’s economy.

Legislators, including Malerkotla’s Jamil Ur Rehman, Payal’s Manwinder Singh Giaspura, Raikot’s Thekedar Hakam Singh and Gajjanmajra’s Kulwant Singh, emphasised that the AAP government, led by Chief Minister Mann, is committed to strengthening the economic conditions of residents through skill development initiatives.

MLA Rehman highlighted that the state government is focused on imparting skill training based on the teachings of Lord Vishwakarma, enabling youth to lead dignified lives. “Lord Vishwakarma is recognised as the divine architect of the universe and the master of all machinery used by people worldwide,” he said.
