Chandigarh, July 16
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan today announced nominations for the 15 committees of the House for the ongoing financial year.
Congress MLA Rana Gurjit Singh has been nominated as chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee, while former minister Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar will head the Committee on Papers to be Laid on Table of the House.
Saravjit Kaur Manuke is the chairperson of the Committee on Public Undertakings; Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh will head the Committee on Estimates and the House Committee, while Kulwant Singh Pandori has been nominated as chairperson of the Committee of Privileges.
Amongst others nominated by the Speaker are: AAP’s Punjab unit working president and MLA Budh Ram as chairperson of the Committee on Panchayati Raj Institutions; Sarwan Singh Dhun as head of the Committee on Agriculture and Allied Activities; Gurpreet Singh Banawali as chairperson of the Committee on Cooperation and Allied Activities; Davinderjit Singh Laddi Dhos as chairperson of the Committee on Government Assurances; Amarpal Singh as chairperson of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation; and Manjit Singh Bilaspur as chairperson of the Committee on Petitions, while Jagroop Singh Gill will head the Committee on Questions and References.
