Punjab Police’s AGTF foils sensational crimes ahead of Independence Day, five among mastermind arrested

The Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has successfully averted potential sensational crimes on the eve of Independence Day by arresting five persons, including mastermind Sunil Bhandari alias Nata, wanted in several cases of heinous crimes, including three recent killings in Ferozepur. The remaining four have been identified as Rahul Bhandari, Varinder Singh, Karan and Amandeep Singh, all residents of Ferozepur.
The AGTF teams also seized five sophisticated weapons, including three .30 caliber Chinese pistols and two .32 caliber pistols, along with 40 cartridges, and impounded two vehicles, a Mahindra XUV 700 and an Innova Crysta.
According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, the accused were involved in the broad daylight murder of Lovepreet Singh on July 31 in Ferozepur. Nata was the mastermind behind the murder, while Rahul Bhandari and Varinder were also involved.
The AGTF teams intercepted the accused near national highway in Rajpura, foiling their attempt to flee the state. All the arrested accused have criminal histories, with Nata facing around 15 FIRs, including murder and attempt to murder cases.
A fresh case has been registered under Section 25(6)(7) of the Arms Act at the Punjab State Crime police station in SAS Nagar.
