Punjab Police conduct ‘Operation CASO’ in Kapurthala
The Punjab Police conducted ‘Operation CASO’ by in Kapurthala district under the supervision of Special Director General of Police (DGP) (Railways) Shashi Prabha Diwedi and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vatsala Gupta.
During the operation, 15 cases were registered and 16 individuals arrested.
The police recovered 13 grams heroin, 3 kg poppy husk, 450 grams opium, 535 intoxicating tablets, 190 grams ganja, a .32 caliber pistol with a magazine and one round, 100 kg illicit liquor, and 95 bottles illegal alcohol. Additionally, around 22 suspicious vehicles were seized.
SSP Vatsala said that searches were conducted at various locations, including residential areas of suspected individuals, and public places like bus stands. She emphasised that the district police remain committed to maintaining law and order, and similar operations will continue in the future to curb criminal elements.
Meanwhile, DGP (Railways) Shashi Prabha Diwedi along with SP Phagwara Rupinder Kaur Bhatti on Wednesday succeeded to register 6 FIRs against 8 criminals under the NDPS and Arms Act.
