Punjab Cabinet meets today

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has called a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday afternoon. This will be the first Cabinet meeting for the five newly inducted ministers, namely Barinder Kumar Goyal, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Dr Ravjot Singh and Mohinder Bhagat.

Initially, the meeting was scheduled to be held in Jalandhar, but the venue was later shifted to Chandigarh. The shift was probably made because many ministers were in Delhi today, while some others were in their constituencies, overseeing the panchayat poll campaign.

Sources say expansion of the CM Yogshala project was the key agenda of the meeting. Interestingly, no major decision can be taken at this meeting as the model code of conduct is in place for the panchayat elections.

Meanwhile, the CM reached Jalandhar around 5.45 pm on Monday. It is learnt, he may meet some people there in the morning before heading back to Chandigarh for the meeting.
