Punjab bypoll: Gidderbaha candidates Manpreet, Dimpy facing a case each
In the high stakes battle in Gidderbaha, BJP candidate Manpreet Singh Badal and AAP nominee Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon are facing a case each pertaining to corruption and election violence, respectively.
Congress candidate Amrita Warring is not facing any criminal case. Amrita (45) has net assets worth Rs 5.93 crore and does not own a car. A perusal of her election affidavit filed on Thursday revealed that Amrita, an MSc in computer science, owns movable properties worth Rs 4.62 crore and immovable properties worth Rs 4.58 crore, and has financial liabilities of Rs 3.27 crore.
An LLB (Hons) degree holder from London, Manpreet Badal (62) has net assets worth Rs 2.38 crore. He has movable assets worth Rs 1 crore, immovable assets worth Rs 1.58 crore and liabilities of Rs 20 lakh. As per details, the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) of Badal owns movable and immovable assets worth about Rs 43.5 crore. Further, the HUF has income tax dues of Rs 3.5 crore. He is facing a plot allotment case registered by the Vigilance Bureau.
A graduate, Hardeep Dhillon (57) has net assets worth about Rs 1.4 crore. He owns movable properties worth Rs 1.7 crore and immovable properties worth Rs 3.28 crore. His financial liabilities amount to Rs 3.41 crore. He does not own a car. He is facing a case relating to poll violence registered during the previous Congress government's term.
