These allegations have been levelled to divert the attention from the government’s failures. Eight hotels and 56 industries had received incentives under this policy in Mohali alone, besides around 600 in the state. Parambans Singh Romana, sad secretary

Action against Sukhvilas a gimmick: Congress

A day after the CM announced to proceed against irregularities in Sukhvilas resort to benefit the Badal family, CLP leader Partap Singh Bajwa termed it political drama. For two years, the CM did not do anything and was only facilitating to enable the Badals to get stay from the high court. Only time will tell what happens in the case.

Showing documents to support its claims on the project, SAD general secretary Parambans Singh Romana said, “These allegations have been levelled to divert the attention from the government’s failures”.

Asserting that allegations were a bunch of lies and that he would have to face a defamation suit if he did not apologise for it, Romana said, “Bhagwant Mann’s claims that a tailor-made policy was made to extend tax incentives to Sukhvilas and that the same were revoked when the resort was completed is a naked lie”.

He said the truth was that the incentives were given under the investment policy of the government and that the policy was in force even today. Romana said asserting that anyone establishing an industry in Punjab was eligible for these incentives and in fact the current incentives were more than what Sukhvilas received.

He also detailed that eight hotels and 56 industries had received incentives under this policy in Mohali alone, besides around 600 in the state.
