Poll call: Punjab AAP presents united face
Gidderbaha/Muktsar
The Aam Aadmi Party recently presented a united face in Gidderbaha as all its prominent ticket aspirants gathered on one platform in the presence of cabinet minister Aman Arora, MLAs Devinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhos and Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar.
AAP has appointed Arora and Dhos as party in-charge and co-incharge for the Gidderbaha bypoll.
Some local AAP leaders were annoyed after SAD’s Gidderbaha constituency incharge Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon joined AAP on August 28. Some of them had even recently gone to Chandigarh and Delhi to express displeasure over the party’s decision of inducting Dimpy.
Prominent AAP leaders present on the occasion included Dimpy Dhillon, Pritpal Sharma, Sukhjinder Singh Kaoni and Bachittar Singh Dhaliwal.
Meanwhile, the party has changed its strategy and stopped using the names of its local leaders on the foundation stone plaques for various development works. Further, no local leader’s photo was printed on the invitation card for the programmes of Aman Arora.
“A fresh strategy has been devised so that all groups work actively on the ground. As of now, the party has not named any candidate for the upcoming poll,” said a senior AAP leader.
Meanwhile, Aman Arora, in the presence of Laddi Dhos and Muktsar MLA Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar, laid the foundation stones of some development works in the constituency. “The work on 19 projects worth around Rs 12 crore has started. The sewerage work in Gidderbaha will be completed in one year,” Arora said.
