Malerkotla police to partner with social bodies for community service

The district police have announced their commitment to collaborate with non-governmental organisations dedicated to serving humanity by organising public service events, including blood donation camps, medical check-up camps, workshops, and seminars to raise awareness on various social issues.

Senior Superintendent of Police Gagan Ajit Singh made this announcement as the chief guest at the closing session of a Blood Donation Camp organised by the Sahara Muslim Welfare Society, in partnership with other organisations.

Commending the active role of police officers in providing community services, the SSP highlighted that officers from various police stations and subdivisions have been proactive in assisting residents in times of need. He emphasised his directive to the in-charges of different police wings to enhance their involvement in Community Policing initiatives.

“While some officers are already actively participating in public service events, we have encouraged leaders of various units to motivate more officers to engage in humanitarian activities beyond their routine duties,” the SSP stated. He noted that these efforts would not only enhance the police’s public image but also strengthen community morale.

Azhar Muneem, president of the host organisation, shared that 131 units of blood were collected during the camp, with contributions from several police officers as well.
