Parents heave a sigh of relief
The parents of school students travelling in a bus that fell into a gorge at Tikkar Tal in Morni Hills heaved a sigh of relief as their wards had a miraculous escape.
Though exact reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained, conductor of the ill-fated bus Satnam Singh cited failure of brakes as a major factor behind the accident.
The district administration has come up with a helpdesk to assist the parents at the Amargarh police station.
SSP Gagan Ajit Singh said they were in regular touch with the school authorities and the Haryana Government.
Assistant Commissioner Gurmit Bansal said, “I had a word with Principal Ishita Arora, who confirmed that around 20 persons, including the driver and students, had suffered injuries.”
Prabhjot Singh, whose wife and kids were accompanying other students, said the Almighty had saved precious and innocent lives. “My whole family heaved a sigh of relief after coming to know that everybody travelling in the ill-fated bus were safe,” said Prabhjot, adding that the management of Nankana Sahib Public School had planned a one-day excursion for the students.
