Para-athlete Harvinder Singh has scripted history by striking a gold medal in archery at the Paralympic Games in Paris. However, not many may know that the 33-year-old hails from Kaithal and is currently pursuing his PhD in Economics at Punjabi University.

Vice-Chancellor KK Yadav congratulated Harvinder and his coach, Surinder Singh Randhawa. He said the university has been a leader in sports as well as academics.

Director of Sports Department Ajita congratulated Harvinder and said the university was proud.

Coach Surinder Singh Randhawa said Harvinder Singh was talented and hardworking. He said Harvinder had won a bronze medal at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. He said in 2018, Harvinder had also won a gold medal at the Asian Para Games held in Jakarta.
