Three residents of Wahabwala village, 13 km away from here, were attacked yesterday allegedly by more than 14 miscreants of the same village.

As per the report lodged with the Wahabwala police station by Rajinder Singh, he, along with Parvinder Singh and Abhayraj Singh, were going to the market in a car when more than 12 persons carrying weapons stopped and attacked them. Their car was also badly damaged. The cause of the incident has been stated to be an argument on the day of polling for panchayats and these persons had been reportedly planning to attack them since then, the complainant said.

The police said a case had been registered under Sections 109, 126(2), 115(2), 324(4), 351(2)(3), 191(3) and 190 of the BNS.

Nirmal Singh, Sukhraj Singh, Harprince Singh, Nishan Singh, Swapan Singh, Gurpreet Singh Babbu, Rajpreet Singh Gagga, Harman Singh, Swaraj Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Balwinder Singh Billa, Amandeep Singh, Gurdeep Singh and Sanjam Singh, all residents of Wahabwala, have been named in the FIR while some more are yet to be identified. Investigation is going on, the police said.
