Misl Satluj, a socio-political organisation to address Punjab-centric issues, convened a meeting here today to focus on policy formulation, Centre-state relations and concerns of the Sikh community.
Ajaypal Singh Brar, president of the organisation, urged a shift from the hollow politics of personality to the solid ground of issue-based leadership. “The time has come to move beyond the politics of ego and self-interest. We must build a future based on consensus, collaboration and a shared vision for Punjab,” he stated.
The organisation is committed to advocating the rights and welfare of Punjab and its people, the president added.
Rajpal Singh, vice-president of Misl Satluj, highlighted the pressing challenges faced by the state.
He also emphasised the absence of a regional party committed to resolving the state’s problems and underscored the need for a strong regional force to advocate for Punjabi interests.
Hardev Singh Ghaniye Wala, president of the Kisan Wing of Misl Satluj, addressed the ongoing farm crisis in Punjab. He announced the formation of a committee comprising farmers, agricultural experts and former bureaucrats to address various agricultural challenges in the state was required. This committee would work towards developing a roadmap for prosperity and sustainable development in Punjab, he said.
