Only double-engine govt can address Punjab issues: Bittu
Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu, who is campaigning for BJP candidate from Gidderbaha Manpreet Singh Badal, here today emphasised the need for a “double-engine” government in the state to address issues of Punjabis. Bittu said he would campaign in Gidderbaha till November 11.
Bittu’s grandfather Beant Singh, who was the CM during the 1995 bypoll in Gidderbaha, had camped here along with his cabinet colleagues for around a month and campaigned for Congress candidate Deepak Kumar to defeat Manpreet during the latter’s maiden election. However, Manpreet won that election.
Speaking at the BJP office here, Bittu said, “I met the Prime Minister yesterday and he is concerned about Punjab. Only the Centre, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, can guide Punjab out of all crises. In today’s railway technology, both engine and coaches are equipped with power, enabling greater speed, reduced travel time, and enhanced efficiency. Similarly, states with a double-engine government experience faster growth and improved prosperity.”
