Unlike the previous elections, there has been a marked difference in campaigning style, due to the directions issued by the Election Commission in the wake of Covid surge.

The door-to door and online election campaign has gathered pace after announcement of candidates by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Sanyukt Samaj Morcha (SSM). Though incumbent MLA Dr Harjot Kamal had joined BJP, but his name did not appeared in the first list of the saffron party, which was announced a few days ago.

Malvika Sachar Sood, younger sister of Sonu Sood, has started online and door-to-door campaign to reach maximum voters in the segment. SAD candidate Barjinder Singh alias Makhan Brar has also been trying to woo the voters on social media platforms for the last two months.

AAP nominee Dr Amanpreet Kaur Arora and SSM candidate Navdeep Singh Sangha have been interacting one-to-one with voters on social media platforms.

All candidates in the fray have hired IT professional to reach maximum voters amid the pandemic.
