One dies, five injured in mishaps
A man died and five others were injured in two separate road accidents in Abohar on Thursday.
Three people were injured near Khuian Sarwar village, approximately 15km from Abohar, when a car collided with their motorcycle. The victims, Kartar, Gulshan and Hans Lal from Sappanwali village, were on their way home after working in Khuian Sarwar.
The impact of the crash, caused by a speeding Alto car, sent all three men sprawling onto the road, resulting in severe injuries. The injured were initially taken to Abohar Civil Hospital, where they received first aid before being referred to Bathinda. Despite medical efforts, Kartar later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Kartar left behind four children.
In a separate incident, a jeep’s tire burst near Baganwali village on the Abohar-Fazilka road on Thursday afternoon, causing it to collide with a Punjab Roadways bus before crashing into a tree on the roadside.
Three people traveling in the jeep were injured and transported to the Civil Hospital by a Sadak Suraksha Force team for treatment.
The injured individuals, identified as decorator Vikas from Chuhriwala Dhanna village, his brother Ravinder and their friend Pawan Kumar, were on their way to Jorkian village to remove decoration items from a recent function.
