Chandigarh, April 10

In a bid to ensure hassle-free vaccination drive and treatment services, Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today conducted surprise checks at four government hospitals in Kharar, Morinda, Chamkaur Sahib and Ropar.

Sidhu said the Health Department was conducting the massive vaccination drive at more than 2,500 centres across the state where adequate arrangements had been made for the beneficiaries. He said to provide standardised facilities, he today conducted surprise checks at the ground zero level.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to motivate others and join hands with the government to boost the vaccination drive. “Acting on the appeal of the CM regarding the shortage of vaccine in the state, the central government has decided to send a fresh batch of 4 lakh doses by tomorrow,” he said.

“A total of 40,000 vials will reach the Chandigarh airport against 1 lakh demanded by the state government. Each vial contains 10 doses of the vaccine,” Sidhu added. — TNS
