Among the various extradition requests and investigations that are pending due to the diplomatic row between India and Canada is the case of Sandeep Singh Sidhu, who is wanted for allegedly promoting terror activities and is said to be working for Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA).

Intelligence sources informed The Tribune that there was no clarity on whether Sidhu is actually working with the CBSA and the same was being verified through diplomatic channels. Agencies are learnt to have made efforts to find out about his antecedents in Canada, but owing to the diplomatic impasse, there has not been much progress.

Sources say the issue of his extradition is on the backburner as of now. Sidhu is also wanted in connection with murder of Shaurya Chakra awardee Balwinder Singh Sandhu, who had fought militancy in Punjab.
