Nawanshahr doctor thrashed during night duty, accused nabbed 

A doctor from Civil Hospital in Mukandpur village in Nawanshahr district was allegedly assaulted by a man during night duty.

Dr Simal was beaten up by a youngster on Friday night.

The doctor was looking after patients when he got to know that a car was parked near the hospital. Suspecting something strange, he went outside.

“I asked the man what he wanted. The man told me that he was accompanying a patient in the hospital and gave me a random name too. When I checked with the staff, I found out there was no patient by this name. When I confronted him, he abused and hit me,” Simal said.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against the accused identified as Manish Kumar on Saturday.

He has been arrested from Mukandpur.
