The Aam Aadmi Party today demanded immediate intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Nankana Sahib stone-pelting incident while alleging a conspiracy behind the sacrilegious act.

In a statement, AAP MLAs Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Manjit Singh Bilaspur and Kulwant Singh Pandori said the act could not have taken place without a deep conspiracy and that the incident must be probed in a time-bound manner as it concerned the sentiments of the Sikhs across the world.

Sandhwan said India should use diplomatic channels to expose the deep-rooted conspiracy behind the act by certain divisive forces out to spread communal poison among the minority Hindu-Sikh community in Pakistan.

The AAP leaders said Pakistan premier Imran Khan should also order an inquiry and send across a strong message that no such mischief would be tolerated.

Rajya Sabha MP and senior Akali leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa demanded immediate arrest of those behind the attack. Dhindsa said Imran Khan should take personal responsibility for the attack and give exemplary punishment to the guilty.

In Abohar, the Akhil Bhartiya SC Yuvjan Samaj said it had created a sense of insecurity among minorities. State president Gopi Chand Sandar questioned PM Narendra Modi’s silence on the issue.
