Mukerian resident killed in road accident near Phagwara

Police register case under Section 279 and Section 304A of Indian Penal Code

A young boy was killed on the spot when he was hit by a speeding truck near village Khatti on Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road here on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Gurdip Singh, a resident of Mukerian.

Gurdip was crossing the road after having dinner from a roadside dhabha when the speeding truck hit him. The driver managed to flee after hitting him.

The police have registered a case under Section 279 and Section 304A of Indian Penal Code and sent the body to local civil hospital for post-mortem examination.
