PM Narendra Modi’s Sikh outreach amid farm stir
New Delhi: Amid farmers’ protests, PM Narendra Modi made an outreach to the Sikh community, saying: “We feel proud when lakhs of Sikh devotees realise their spiritual urges by taking the Kartarpur Corridor to Pakistan. It was after seven decades of waiting that we opened up the Corridor to enable Sikh worshippers who hitherto used binoculars to see Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.”
In his concluding remarks at the BJP meeting, he further said the BJP-led NDA government removed GST on langar and also ensured FCRA registration for Golden Temple to enable NRI contributions. “We decided to mark December 26 as Veer Bal Divas to honour the sacrifice of Sahibzadas, the sons of Guru Gobind Singh. Today, children of Kerala and Nagaland also know about the sacrifice of Sahibzadas. We retrieved Guru Granth Sahib from war-torn Afghanistan with full honours,” said the PM.
